We are working in partnership with a well-established accountancy practice based in Manchester to recruit an experienced Accounts Senior. This is a key role within the practice, supporting a portfolio of clients across various sectors. The successful candidate will be technically strong, proactive, and confident, with excellent client-facing and team management skills.

Accounts Senior Duties
  • Managing a portfolio of clients from preparation of accounts through to completion

  • Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders

  • Handling bookkeeping, VAT, and payroll queries where required

  • Reviewing and supervising work of junior staff, providing guidance and training

  • Liaising with clients, resolving queries, and providing proactive advice

  • Supporting audit and compliance work where required

  • Ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed accurately and to a high standard

Essential Experience Required

To be successful in your application you MUST have the following:

  • ACA, ACCA, part-qualified or equivalent experience within an accountancy practice

  • Previous experience within an accountancy practice, ideally with exposure to a varied client portfolio

  • Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT, and compliance

  • Experience managing or mentoring junior staff

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines

  • Confident client-facing and communication skills

  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and accounting software
