Supplier technology plays an important part of new designs so it is anticipated that supplier and purchasing communication will be frequent. Preferred suppliers will be used wherever possible in a manner that ensures high quality products are available using most efficient manufacturing processes. Comparisons with competitor's products will be expected as projects require.

Position Description

A new opportunity exists for a Plant Manager to lead the Airedale by Modine Consett Plant. This role is responsible for achieving contribution to the Corporate Goals and Objectives, adherence to corporate policies, providing a safe work environment, and meeting customer requirements efficiently. Additional responsibilities include creation and delivery of capacity, capital, and financial plans, creating an environment of continuous improvement, development of employee skills, succession planning, and communication of organisation direction and alignment of the workforce to the goals of the Consett Plant and wider business unit

Key Responsibilities

* Represent the company as the local executive, adherence to laws and guidelines, and maintaining positive public relations in the community, achieve and continue a positive image externally and internally.

* Ensure a safe working environment for all employees (site custodian). Minimise the impact of operations to the Environment and comply with all external and internal Environmental requirements.

* Responsibility for the financial performance of the facility through the execution of the operational plan.

* Development of short and long term operating and business plans that align and contribute to Company goals and objectives. Accurate planning, forecasting, analysis of variances, and implementation of corrective actions to achieve planned results.

* Management of a Plant Staff to align responsibilities and expectations to Company goals.

* Mentoring the Plant Staff in the use of the 80/20 methodology and ensuring the continued development of 80/20 practice throughout the organisation and facility.

* Manage the quality output of the manufacturing and business processes with the ability to meet targets or modify activity and behaviour if off target.

* Assess performance and behaviour through regular utilisation of Success Factors, and address required changes to meet performance targets.

* Communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation including written, verbal, and presentation techniques.

* Take a data driven (KPI style) approach to understanding the contribution of each department within the plant. This is not limited to but must include H&S, Quality, labour efficiency, output and OTIF delivery.

* Take a structured and strategic approach to capacity planning to align operational capacity with customer demand.

Required Education & Qualifications

* 7-10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.

* 5 years in a direct management position with multiple direct reports.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Good working knowledge of financial management.

* History of continuous improvement responsibility with measurable results.

* Desire and ability to be a self-directed manager working within the corporate reporting and organisational structure.

Travel

* Intermittent travel required to meet with customers, suppliers, other facilities, and Regional and Corporate meetings
