The OpportunityWe’re working with a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a range of infrastructure and groundworks projects across the South. Due to an increase in workload, they’re looking to bring in an experienced General Foreman to take ownership of site operations and drive projects through to successful delivery.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, leading from the front, and playing a key role in maintaining high standards across safety, quality, and programme.
Key Responsibilities- Site Leadership: Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
- Health & Safety: Maintain and enforce strict HSEQ standards across all site activities
- Team Management: Supervise site teams, subcontractors, and plant, ensuring productivity and a positive working environment
- Programme Delivery: Work closely with site and project management to keep works on track and proactively resolve issues
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all works meet specification, drawings, and client expectations
- Reporting: Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress updates, and resource tracking
About YouYou’re an experienced and reliable General Foreman with a solid background in civil engineering or earthworks. You’re confident running sites, managing teams, and making decisions under pressure to keep projects moving forward.
RequirementsEssential Certifications:
- CSCS Gold Card
- SMSTS
- NRSWA Supervisor
- Confined Spaces
- First Aid
- Temporary Works Supervisor
- Lift Supervisor
- IOSH (Buried Services or equivalent)
Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in a General Foreman or similar supervisory role within civils
- Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and site processes
- Experience managing plant, labour, and outputs in line with programme requirements
- Ability to maintain clear and accurate site documentation
