Jaymarc AV is expanding and has recently relocated into new offices. We are looking for highly motivated and technical people to aid in the growth of Seattle’s #1 Audio Video Contractor.

Job Title: Journeyman Installation Technician
Department: Operations – Field Installation
Location: Greater Puget Sound Area
Schedule: Variable – Typically Monday – Friday 7am to 3:30pm; Occasional evenings, nights, weekends, holidays; Overtime after 40 hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage on-site project installations
  • Account for all materials on the job-site
  • Layout daily tasks for site crew
  • Coordinate with other trades
  • Coordinate with Project Manager
  • Facilitate physical installation of advanced AV systems
  • Comprehend job plans and specifications
  • Comprehend and facilitate job schedules and proper sequence of work
  • Identify technical or operational discrepancies and suggest resolutions
  • Preparation and execution of wire pull and cable management
  • Preparation and execution of device installation in finished surfaces
  • Documentation of project conditions; including daily reports and as-built conditions
  • Provide instrumental support during programming, testing, commissioning and training
  • Facilitate the successful closeout of projects with Project Management and Engineering
  • Ultimately responsible for job-site safety and cleanliness
  • Ultimately responsible for overall project quality control
  • Supervise and mentor apprentice technicians
  • Consistently provide exceptional customer service
  • Consistently provide a high standard of craftsmanship in all aspects of system installation

Required Skills:

  • Low Voltage Cable Terminations, including but not limited to:
    • Proper Preparation (heat-shrink, isolation, stripping, tinning)
    • Soldering
    • Captive Screw
    • Crimping (Cat5/6, COAX, D-Sub, etc)
  • Cabling Installation / Management
    • Above ceiling
    • Exposed
    • Cable Trays
    • Rack / Equipment Entrance
  • Audio Video Cabling Signal Separation
  • Device Installation, including but not limited to:
    • Integration in finished surfaces
    • Structural support and rigging
    • Temporary solutions such as theater, stage and film
    • Semi-permanent installation such as portable racks and devices
  • Effective comprehension of AV automation and processing systems and concepts
  • Comprehension of both digital and analog transport technologies
  • Audio Video System Maintenance, Service and Troubleshooting
  • Windows PC basic operations
  • Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (OSI model)

Qualifications:

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis
  • Passes background and drug tests
  • Valid WA Department of Labor & Industries Low Voltage Journeyman License (EL06) in good standing
  • Valid WA Driver's License with insurable driving record
  • MINIMUM of two years of relevant AV Integration experience
  • AVIXA CTS, CTS-I Certifications preferred
  • Crestron, Extron, AMX, Biamp, or QSC certifications desired

Compensation:

  • Paid hourly, DOE; Weekly pay periods
  • Cell phone stipend
