The company
A trusted partner in the rail and infrastructure sector, this company delivers essential mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering services to some of the UK's most critical infrastructure environments.
The role
As a Site Technician, you will work directly on-site, supporting a range of detailed mechanical, electrical, and civil surveys. You'll assist in the preparation and delivery of reports, schedules, drawings, and other technical documentation while ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and safety protocols.
This is a varied and hands-on role ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented technician who enjoys fieldwork, technical problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced rail environment.
Key responsibilities include:
*
Conducting site-based surveys, including concrete coring, structural inspections, CCTV drainage surveys, and more.
*
Supporting small-to-medium scale installation works and commissioning tasks.
*
Producing accurate survey reports and documentation to required standards.
*
Collaborating with survey managers, engineers, clients, and third parties.
*
Working flexibly to meet programme deadlines, including night work and reactive shifts as required.
About you
We are looking for a skilled and adaptable Site Technician with a background in mechanical, electrical, civil, or structural engineering—ideally with experience in the rail sector. You'll need to be confident working on-site, committed to high safety standards, and comfortable contributing to both surveys and installation phases.
Some essentials included below:
*
Experience in M&E, civils, or structural work, preferably within rail.
*
Strong understanding of technical surveys and installation practices.
*
Ability to produce reports, drawings, and schedules to a professional standard.
*
Excellent team collaboration and communication skills.
*
Full UK driving licence is essential.
*
PTS and CSCS certification (or willingness to obtain).
*
Competence using Office 365; basic AutoCAD skills desirable.
*
Flexible approach to travel and shift work, including nights and weekends
