Salisbury, office-based, Monday to Friday

Following the award of a new contract, an exciting brand-new permanent opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Accountant to join a dynamic and fast-paced organisation. This position is integral to the continued success of the business and offers the chance to work closely with senior stakeholders and clients

Role Purpose
The Commercial Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial processes, reporting, and analysis across the Purchasing business unit

The role includes:

Delivering accurate financial reporting and ensuring compliance with internal controls

Supporting strategic planning through budgeting and forecasting activities

Providing insightful financial analysis to guide commercial decision-making

Collaborating with operational teams and senior leadership to improve financial performance and drive efficiency

Key Responsibilities:

Provide accounting and analytical support to the Finance & Administration Director

Present financial data to the Board and deliver client-facing feedback and insights

Ensure timely completion of month-end processes and reporting tasks

Coordinate with accountable staff and stakeholders to meet internal deadlines, enabling the Finance Team to deliver monthly management accounts and KPIs on schedule

Arrange and participate in meetings, conferences, and team activities

Undertake all training deemed necessary for the proper performance of the role

Maintaining and improving Business Processes and Systems

Participate in the year-end audit process as required

Skills and experience required:

ACCA or CIMA part qual/qualified

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Exceptional organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail

Confident, proactive and an effective communicator can engage with colleagues at all levels

Ability to effectively prioritise and deliver to deadlines when required

Competent IT skills - Excel to intermediate level with experience of data analysis using pivot tables, data manipulation, large data sheets

Ideally imports and exports experience
