Senior Project Engineer (Environmental / DCO background) - Staff

Location: London

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing engineering business during a period of continued growth as they support the Renewable Energy sector. Our client is looking for a Project Engineer with an environmental background to support the DCO stage of the project.

Role & Responsibilities

* Working Client-side role, responsible for managing the delivery of packages of work by the FEED contractor.

* Will be responsible for supporting the DCO (Development Consent Order) part of the project.

* Management of Environmental consultants to develop Environmental documentation.

* Maintained oversight of agreements, criteria, and conditions outlined in the DCO, and collaborated with stakeholders, individual packages, and the Consent team to ensure technical compliance.

* Support the Land Strategy Team in the Land Acquisition process.

* Ensure environmental compliance as part of the application process.

* Responsible for technical review of gaps in scope of work delivered by the FEED contractor.

* Maintain and update the risk register, DCO consent register and other required trackers.

* Review progress and cost reports from DCO consultants.

* Maintain and further develop relationships with key stakeholders on projects.

* Ensure that issues relating to HSE are effectively managed, in line with the clients' policies and procedures.

* Produce progress reports and lead progress meetings with clients and internal team.

* Checking of project deliverables including drawings, schedules, datasheets, specifications.

Key Skills & Knowledge

* Must be degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline, chartered status desired but not essential.

* Process Engineering background preferable but not essential.

* Previously worked on design projects in the Oil & Gas, Petrochem, or Renewable Energy industries.

* Experience in other major energy such as Energy from Waste or similar will also be highly advantageous.

* Previous site experience in conjunction with a design background beneficial.
