We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Operative to join a reputable student accommodation site in Canada Water. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with hands-on maintenance experience to support the upkeep and improvement of residential facilities over a 4-6 week period.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Maintenance Operative, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the accommodation facilities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • General Maintenance: Responding to minor repair issues across the site and supporting with ad-hoc maintenance tasks.
  • Electrical & Plumbing: Assisting with routine electrical and plumbing maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Painting & Decorating: Carrying out internal painting and redecorating to maintain a high standard of presentation.
  • Appliance Installation: Supporting with the replacement of ovens, hobs, kitchen extractors, and toilets across 23 flats.
  • Garden & Outdoor Areas: Performing light gardening duties to keep outdoor spaces clean and presentable.
  • Refurbishment Works: Assisting with balcony refurbishments and other light refurb works as required.
  • Blockages: Helping with shower and drainage blockages as necessary.

Candidate Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is reliable, experienced, and confident in a varied maintenance role. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience across general maintenance, electrical, plumbing, painting, and gardening duties
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of upkeep
