What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out?
Care Beyond the Curriculum: This role focuses on the complete well-being of the student. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, implementing postural management programs, and adhering to individual care plans to ensure every child feels safe, respected, and comfortable.
Consistency and Connection: Benefit from the security of a full-time temporary role (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm) based in one welcoming school, allowing you to form meaningful, lasting relationships with the students.
Invest in Your Development: We offer complimentary access to specialized training designed to enhance your skills. This includes courses in Makaton/PECS, safe Moving and Handling, Intensive Interaction, and strategies for supporting students with ASD and complex medical needs.
Recommend and Reap the Rewards: Know a friend or colleague suited for a role in education? Refer them through our scheme and you'll receive a £75 Love2Shop voucher as a thank you.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Proven Specialist Background: Essential experience working with individuals who have PMLD, complex physical disabilities, or severe autism within a care or educational setting. Practical knowledge of tube feeding, hoisting, or managing epilepsy is highly desirable.
Relevant Qualifications: While a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning is beneficial, we place equal value on substantial, hands-on experience and a naturally caring, empathetic approach.
Commitment to Safeguarding: A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential. If you do not have one, you must be willing to process an application immediately upon starting.
If you are driven by the belief that every child deserves an advocate and possess the specialized skills to make a profound difference in the lives of PMLD learners, we would love to hear from you.
