Mobile Forklift Engineer Required in Braintree

Essex - Braintree (Covering UK)

£36,000 - £40,000 + Overtime

07:30AM-17:00PM (Monday to Friday)

Due to continued growth and expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced Mobile Forklift Engineer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys working independently in a field-based role, with excellent earning potential and long-term career stability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service, maintain, and overhaul forklifts and material handling equipment
• Diagnose and repair faults on gas, diesel, and electric trucks
• Carry out routine maintenance (brakes, steering, lift assemblies, oil/filter changes)
• Perform preventative maintenance, including lubrication and adjustments
• Test and maintain batteries (fluid levels, voltage checks, hydrometer readings)
• Attend breakdowns and carry out timely repairs to minimise downtime
• Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation
• Work on key components including hydraulics, lift chains, brakes, and steering systems
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, diesel/LPG engines, and hydraulics
• Build strong customer relationships while ensuring all work meets safety and manufacturer standards

What we're looking for:

• Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
• Previous experience working on forklifts or material handling equipment
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills (mechanical & electrical)
• Background in HGV, plant, construction, agricultural, automotive, REME, or similar
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a field-based role
• Confident handling breakdowns and working under pressure
• Solid electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge
