About_The_Role

The HR Specialist will work with our HR leadership team to support the
distribution center in Sacramento. This position carries out responsibilities
in the following functional areas: employee relations, onboarding, policy
implementation, benefits, and employment law compliance. We are looking for
someone to start ASAP.

Responsibilities_Include
* Responsible for administration of hiring, retention, and separations of
employees including administering background and drug screenings,
orientations, employee trainings, and termination processing and
compliance.
* Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company
personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel
policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and
policies and procedures manual.
* Responsible for training managers and supervisors in the proper
administration of employment law and Grocery Outlet policies and respond
to any questions concerning employment law and company policy.
* Responsible for coordinating investigations of employee claims regarding
violations of employment and labor laws.
* Work with the Company labor attorney to review and administer changes as
a result of investigations.
* Responsible for administering employee benefit plans including enrolling
all employees in the benefit plans and assist employees with questions or
problems.
* Conducts recruitment effort for nonexempt personnel, students and
temporary employees and conducts new-employee orientations.
* Organizes and attends career fairs to build Grocery Outlet Inc. s
employment brand
* Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit
interviewing.
* Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings
with cross functional partners.
* Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual
improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
* Maintains human resource information system records in UltiPro and
compiles reports from the database.
* Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning
employment.
* Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

About_You
* A bachelor s degree and/or three to five years human resource
experience
* Bilingual - English/Spanish is a plus
* Warehouse/distribution experience preferred
* Working knowledge of all Employment and Labor Laws on both the federal
and state level.
* A vast knowledge of HRIS systems, preferably in Ultimate Software, ADP,
or systems alike.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating
and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
* Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in situations.
* Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with company personnel and
vendors.
* Open to work a flexible work schedule including occasional nights and
weekends.
