Children’s Residential Support Worker
Location: Burton-on-Trent
Salary: £24,500 per year £60 per sleep-in

Our client is seeking a Children’s Residential Support Worker to join their dedicated team in Burton-on-Trent, providing care within a safe, nurturing, and family-style environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised care and support to children with learning disabilities, Autism, ADHD, sensory impairments, and complex needs.
- Build strong, trusting relationships to promote emotional wellbeing and positive attachments.
- Support children in daily routines such as mealtimes, personal care, and structured activities.
- Encourage independence and life skills development at every opportunity.
- Promote inclusion by supporting children to engage in education, therapy, and community activities.
- Use positive behaviour support strategies to manage challenging situations effectively.
- Assist in developing and following individual care plans tailored to each child’s needs.
- Keep accurate records and contribute to multi-agency meetings to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
- Maintain a homely, safe, and supportive environment where children can feel valued and secure.
- Participate fully in shift patterns, including sleep-ins.
What you’ll be rewarded with:

What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, Autism, ADHD, sensory impairment, behavioural challenges, and/or complex care needs
- A full UK manual driving licence – essential
- Familiarity with residential care principles and safeguarding practices
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Child Care or Children & Young People’s Workforce
- Ability to work shifts and complete overnight sleep-ins
- Valid Right to Work in the UK
Shift Pattern:
- 2 days on, 4 days off (flexible depending on home requirements)
- Shifts run 8:00am – 10:30pm
- Average of 4–6 sleep-ins per month
