Salary: £60 - £70/day

TeacherActive is looking for a Behaviour Specialist to work on a full time basis in one of our Pontefract schools from September 2021.

The Purpose the of the role:

To supervise students in the schools removal room, providing challenge and motivation to ensure a calm working environment.

All adults working in, or on behalf of the college have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. This includes:

-       Responsibility to provide a safe environment in which children can learn and develop.

-       To identify children who may be in need of extra help or who are suffering or are likely to suffer significant harm. All staff then have a responsibility to take appropriate action to prevent concerns from escalating, working with services as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

To supervise students in the Removal Room, providing challenge and motivation to ensure a calm working environment.

-       To ensure that the Removal Room procedures are adhered to and the room is well maintained, neat and tidy.

-       To maintain a bank of resources and work available in the Removal Room.

-       To log behaviour incidents on Sims and prepare reports as necessary.

-       To clarify and explain instructions to students.

-       To ensure students have access to all the equipment needed to work in silence during their time in the Removal Room.

-       Keep careful records and facilitate the sharing of information as necessary.

-       Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

-       Be aware of and support difference and ensure equal opportunities for all.

-       Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the college.

-       Appreciate and support the role of other professionals.

-       Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.

-       Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
