The business provides a niche technology solution to large Enterprise Clients down to SME's, predominantly within the Digital and Telecommunications industries. The Role:

Finance Assistant

Salary up to £30,000 (plus 10% bonus)

  • Processing, organising and documenting purchase and sales invoices up to trial balance, using Sage Line 50
  • Working with the Financial Controller to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing to enable management and monitoring of debtors and creditors
  • Assisting the Financial Controller with on-time preparation and production of:
    • monthly management accounts, including accrual and prepayment journals
    • monthly and annual payroll routines
    • quarterly VAT returns; o annual statutory accounts
  • Collating data entry of staff expenses and commercial credit card transactions and reconciliations of bank accounts
  • General and ad hoc support to Finance and the Senior Management Team
  • Preparation of weekly bank payment schedules and processing in the banking system

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience of working in an accounts team in a small or medium-sized business
  • AAT Level 2 and a genuine commitment and enthusiasm to learn while being a vital part of a dynamic finance operation
  • Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and ideally Google Apps (although training will be provided)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation skills and the ability to forge strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Ability to self-motivate and manage own workload but also enjoy and thrive in a small team environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability, an unflappable demeanour and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills
  • Bags of common sense and an open-minded, can-do approach
