Day shift hours: 07:00-17:30 (Mon-Fri)
Night shift: Available, details TBC
Contract: Permanent
Pay Bands
• Unexperienced / Junior Setter: £28,000-£35,000
For candidates from factory/heavy machinery backgrounds who can be trained on cable extrusion.
• Experienced Setter: £36,000-£45,000
Proven experience setting and running extrusion lines.
Role snapshot
Set up/change over extrusion lines (tips/dies, temperature zones, line speed, haul-off), monitor OD/concentricity and insulation/sheath quality, respond to gauges/spark testers, complete safety checks and records.
Ideal backgrounds (transferable)
Wire & cable extrusion, medical/small-bore tubing, hose/profile extrusion; familiarity with pay-off/take-up, preheaters, cooling troughs, capstans, and inline QA (e.g., Sikora/Zumbach)
