Essential Job Functions
Diligently Manage, Direct, and Coach Leads and employees of assigned departments
Resolve any questions promptly.
Consistently enforce manufacturing requirement that all work is done based on jobs, all jobs have current and accurate prints
Effectively set and maintain standards of orderliness and cleanliness in your department
Maintain all equipment according to required daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance schedules and replace, repair, or schedule service for equipment failures as needed
Assist your Manager in the development of the Manufacturing Plan objectives for your department, review the plan regularly with your Manager to maintain targets and measures
Reorder fabrication supplies, tooling, and measuring devices as needed and approved
Continually seek ways to improve processes in areas under your supervision to achieve better results, reduced effort, and more satisfied employees
Encourage your employees to submit suggestions for improvement and respond appropriately
Recommend equipment, organizational flow, or other improvements
Consistently enforce proper behavior on shop floor including attendance, wearing of safety gear and following safety rules, staying at work station except for personal and mandated breaks, and compliance with time clock and overtime protocols.
Maintain discipline and suggest write ups as needed to your Manager
In-depth operational knowledge of Press Brakes, Turret Punch, Shear, and tooling Supervisory experience in a team environment
Effective use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
5+ year of experience in a manufacturing setting
Understanding of “Lean” concepts and methods in a manufacturing setting
This position will require the supervisor to develop an understanding of company policies as outlined in the employee and safety manuals and assist in monitoring and maintaining employee compliance.
Working Conditions (tools and equipment, outdoor/indoor, travel)
Be able to stand/sit for long periods of time
Frequently lift, push, and pull 30+ pounds including overhead lifting
Work in an indoor, hot factory environment
