Director of Nursing
Full Time
This is an exciting new employment opportunity at Valley Cities to help develop a new program. The Director of Nursing will develop and lead the operations, programs, and activities at two new residential treatment sites. Plan, direct, and coordinate patient care activities to maintain standards of patient care and advise medical staff in matters related to clinical services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff. Define and maintain facility standards in nursing care and practice in accordance with all regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Oversee outpatient nursing positions and teams.
Essential Job Functions: (This is not the job description in its entirety)
Collaborate with medical director(s) and inpatient program director(s) to maintain regulatory compliance with state, federal, Joint Commission and agency requirements/standards
Develop, in conjunction with medical director(s), policies and procedures related to nursing functions
Collaborate with medical director(s) in making administrative patient-related decisions
Oversee daily operations of nursing
Directly supervise nurse managers and other directors/ managers and nursing staff as applicable
Provide leadership in nursing decision making and promote best practices
Minimum Qualifications:
Current WA RN/ARNP license
Certification by the American Board of Psychiatric Nursing
BS in Nursing required; Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare, business or related field preferred
2 years of nursing management experience required
5 years of progressive nursing management/administrative experience or 5 years of Inpatient psychiatric nursing experience preferred
Pass all required background checks
