The Company

They are a small but highly capable precision engineering company with a strong reputation for quality, craftsmanship and technical expertise. They specialise in tool and component design, CNC and conventional machining and bespoke engineering solutions.

Their workshop is fully equipped with state-of-the-art machinery including Bridgeport high-speed machining centres, HAAS 4th/5th axis equipment, Hurco and XYZ Proturn lathes, supported by Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD/CAM technology.

They take pride in precision, attention to detail and supporting their clients with engineered solutions that meet the most demanding specifications.

The Role

They are seeking a motivated, driven and passionate engineer to join their small, close-knit team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in CNC programming, setting and operating (Heidenhain/Haas/Hurco or similar controls) and a solid understanding of manual machining and toolmaking principles.

You will work on a variety of low-volume, high-precision components and tooling, often to tight tolerances, across sectors such as aerospace, automotive and advanced manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

* Programming, setting and operating CNC milling and turning machines (Heidenhain, HAAS, Hurco, XYZ).

* Interpreting engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.

* Producing high-precision tools, jigs, fixtures and components to exacting standards.

* Using Fusion 360 for CAD/CAM programming and toolpath generation.

* Operating manual milling and turning machines when required.

* Collaborating with colleagues on design for manufacture and continuous improvement.

* Maintaining a clean, safe and efficient working environment.

About You:

* Time-served engineer or equivalent qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, etc.).

* Proven background in CNC machining (3-, 4-, or 5-axis experience desirable).

* Skilled in Heidenhain or Fanuc controls.

* Experience in toolmaking, precision components or aerospace/automotive engineering preferred.

* Able to work from minimal instruction and take ownership of work from programming to inspection.

* Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.

* A positive attitude, flexibility and team spirit are essential.

Why Join Us?

* Work in a hands-on, technically engaging environment where craftsmanship matters.

* Be part of a small, supportive team with a reputation for quality and innovation.

* Opportunity to work on diverse projects with autonomy and variety.

* Competitive pay and genuine investment in your growth and development.
