Are you a geology or geotechnical graduate, or someone with up to 3 years' experience, eager to gain hands-on site and office experience in engineering geology?

Our client, a respected geotechnical and site investigation specialist with over 30 years of experience, is expanding their Exeter team. They work with local authorities and major blue-chip organisations across highways, construction, environmental, and utilities sectors — offering exposure to a wide variety of ground conditions and project types.

This role provides practical experience from day one and a clear pathway toward professional development and chartership.

🚜 What You'll Be Doing

From your first projects, you'll gain real-world experience in:

Supporting and supervising ground investigations (trial pits, boreholes, in-situ testing)

*

Logging soil and rock samples to industry standards

*

Collecting geotechnical and geo-environmental data

*

Assisting in interpreting results and contributing to reports

*

Ensuring site health & safety compliance

*

Collaborating with drilling crews, engineers, and clients

You'll build a strong technical foundation while developing confidence in delivering elements of projects independently.

🎯 What We're Looking For

*

Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline

*

0-3 years' experience (graduate or early-career)

*

Strong interest in ground investigation and geotechnical engineering

*

Willingness to work outdoors and travel as required

*

Good attention to detail, proactive approach, and eagerness to learn

*

Good communication skills

*

Full UK driving licence (essential)
