A unique and influential opportunity has arisen for a visionary Head of History to lead a thriving department at a leading secondary school in Newham. The Role

The Head of History will:

* Provide strategic leadership and operational management for the History department.

* Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and teaching and learning across KS3-5.

* Lead, mentor, and support a team of dedicated History teachers.

* Promote historical literacy, critical thinking, and a nuanced understanding of the past.

* Manage resources, contribute to whole-school Humanities initiatives, and organise enrichment activities.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an exceptional History teacher with QTS/QTLS and proven leadership experience who:

* Possesses a strong academic background in History and a passion for the subject.

* Demonstrates inspiring leadership, strong management skills, and a collaborative approach.

* Is committed to fostering historical understanding, analytical rigour, and a love of the past.
