Finance Director – Part Time (3 days per week) – Canterbury, Kent - up to £100k FTE p.a. benefits.

Run by an extremely engaging and commercially minded Owner-Manager, you will be key to providing strategic financial leadership across the business and to drive future growth potential.

This is a rare opportunity to join a business as its first in-house Finance Director. Exciting is a cliché, but this is a genuinely superb opportunity to join as the businesses are on an impressive upward trajectory.

You will be instrumental in establishing core metrics, implementing business analysis and to drive future growth, as well as key involvement in the feasibility of business purchase and sale. The role will involve initial establishment of processes and analysis and will require someone happy to take a “hands on” approach.

Your role will involve financial planning and forecasting; budgetary creation, control and management; strengthening financial oversight and providing greater clarity in the numbers and commercial decision making.

You will be a close partner, confidante and advisor to the Owner in all things financial and commercial; you will mentor the Finance Assistant; and you will work closely with the operational business to gain greater understanding, insight and business potential.

Skills Required

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
  • Previous experience working with a fast growing, owner managed business.
  • Experience within a multi-business environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner.
  • Advanced spreadsheet, IT and analysis skills.
  • Previous experience within Property, Construction and/or Leisure would be highly advantageous.
