Accounting Lecturer - East LondonOur client, a leading further education college in East London, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounting Lecturer to join their teaching team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the academic and professional development of learners pursuing careers in accountancy, finance, and business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Accounting across a range of levels (including AAT, BTEC, or Level 3/4 programmes)
• Teach core accounting principles such as financial accounting, management accounting, budgeting, and taxation
• Prepare effective schemes of work and teaching materials aligned with awarding body requirements
• Use varied teaching strategies and digital platforms to engage learners
• Assess, mark, and provide feedback on student work in accordance with college and awarding body standards
• Monitor and track student progress, attendance, and engagement
• Provide pastoral and academic support to help students succeed
• Contribute to internal verification, quality assurance, and curriculum development activities
• Support students in their preparation for exams, assessments, and progression into employment or higher education

Essential Criteria:

• A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to achieve one
• A degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related subject (ACCA, CIMA, AAT Level 4, etc.)
• Experience teaching Accounting in an FE, HE, or adult education setting
• Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and practices
• Excellent communication, planning, and classroom management skills
• Ability to support diverse learners and adapt teaching approaches accordingly
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience delivering AAT qualifications (Level 2-4)
• Familiarity with awarding bodies such as AQA, Pearson, or City & Guilds
• Knowledge of online learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, Teams, Google Classroom)
