Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing & Adaptations
📍 West Midlands - Hybrid (Office, Site & Home)
💰 £45,000 - £70,000 + Car Allowance or Fuel Card
🕒 Full-Time | Permanent
We're looking for a hands-on Quantity Surveyor to join a growing contractor working across social housing projects — including kitchens, bathrooms, voids, rewires, decent homes, and disabled adaptations. If you care about the work you deliver and want to be part of a team that values impact as much as profit, this could be your next move.
This is a hybrid role with a mix of office, site, and home working — you'll have the autonomy to manage your own projects while working closely with operational teams to ensure everything runs smoothly, both commercially and practically.
🔎 What You'll Be Doing:
*
Managing the full commercial lifecycle of refurbishment and maintenance contracts
*
Creating, negotiating, and overseeing subcontractor packages
*
Preparing valuations, cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts
*
Monitoring performance with site and ops teams
*
Handling client applications, variations, and payment cycles
*
Ensuring compliance with frameworks (e.g. NHF, Schedule of Rates)
*
Pricing and managing works related to adaptations - including wet rooms, ramps, DFGs, and accessibility improvements
✅ What We're Looking For:
*
Experience working on social housing contracts - ideally with adaptations exposure
*
Understanding of DFG-funded works and access compliance is a strong advantage
*
Solid knowledge of CVRs, budgets, cost control, and financial reporting
*
Familiarity with SOR codes and public sector pricing
*
Excellent communicator - able to liaise confidently with clients, contractors, and site teams
*
Ability to manage multiple live projects and deliver to deadlines
🌟 Bonus Points For:
*
Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent practical experience
*
Experience using commercial software such as COINS, Causeway, etc.
*
Full UK driving licence
💼 What's In It For You:
*
Salary £45,000 - £70,000, depending on experience
*
Car allowance or fuel card
*
Hybrid working - balance between office, site, and home
*
Long-term career growth in a values-led, growing company
*
A collaborative team where your voice matters and your work has real community impact
