The Business

Our client is an SME manufacturing business who wish to remain confidential on advert stage. However on insight, they operate globally, have a sub 50m turnover, manufacture but also have an element of contracting, work on long term customer contracts and have a clear and dedicated commitment to their staff.

This Finance Manager Job

This position will lead and be responsible for the monthly management accounts, analysis and reporting, focusing on driving profitability. You will lead a team of two, a management accountant and an assistant analyst. The management information is complex due to the nature of the business having project business and long term bespoke contracts, whilst also manufacturing. Your role will be to produce the reporting packs and analysis, but also improve the planning and forecasting of the financials, making these more accurate and regular with greater collaboration with the business to give clearer updates.

What is required:

  • You will be CIMA qualified ideally, with strong leadership qualities and proven previous management experience.
  • Manufacturing experience is essential, as you will be responsible for investigating the BOM's regularly to ensure accurate costing of the products.
  • Experience on SAGE 50 would be advantageous, along with being a confident user of excel - something the business relies heavily on whilst in the early stages of implementing a new ERP system.
  • Project accounting experience would be advantageous, as a large chunk of their business is project led, and part of this position will be to understand the products, the margins, the costs from inception all the way through to completion to drive margins.
  • It is fundamental you have a pure concept of accounting procedures, knowing the basics of bookkeeping, credit and debits and how it all flows through the system to be able to ensure the data coming out of the system is correct.

Salary and Benefits

Salary for this position is up to £60,000. They offer a flexible start and finish times to suit, with hybrid working with up to 2 days at home once an appropriate training period has been completed. Holidays are 25 days + bank, health insurance benefits and the organisation offer a range of services in their benefits package that promote well-being for employees.
