We’re exclusively supporting a well-established, growing organisation in the Chesterfield area with the appointment of an Interim Financial Controller for an initial 12-month contract.  The role is in the Chesterfield area, and is hybrid with only 1 or 2 days in the office required.  

This is a hands-on role leading a small transactional finance team and working closely with the Finance Director. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day running of the finance function as well as supporting the FD with wider business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing and mentoring a small finance team covering transactional processes

• Producing monthly management accounts and providing insightful analysis to the FD

• Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations, cashflow, and controls

• Supporting with budgeting, forecasting, and year-end processes

• Driving improvements across systems, processes and reporting

• Acting as a key business partner to operational and commercial stakeholders

• Overseeing payroll

The Successful Candidate:

• A qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or QBE) with proven experience in a Financial Controller role

• Strong technical skills with the ability to be hands-on when needed

• A natural leader who enjoys developing people and creating a high-performing team

• Commercially aware with the confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders
