Job Title: Principal Engineer
Salary: £52,000 to £75,000 (dependent on experience)
Location: Hybrid - Swindon, Slough, Crossness, or Maple Lodge
Type: Permanent, hybrid (up to 3 days on-site/office)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to lead design and assurance activities across a transformative £300 million capital infrastructure programme. This is a unique chance to take ownership of major water treatment projects, managing technical delivery from feasibility through to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and manage design activities from concept through to contract award
Oversee technical assurance, detailed designs, and design change reviews
Provide technical guidance to project and commissioning teams
Act as the contact for CDM regulations, including Designer or Principal Designer roles
Conduct health & safety site inspections and support continuous improvement
Apply rigorous risk management and de-risking strategies
Build effective internal and external stakeholder relationships
Influence project delivery with commercial insight and engineering leadership

What Our Client is Looking For:

Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or similar discipline)
Chartered engineer status (or actively working toward it)
Proven experience delivering complex capital engineering projects (up to £100M+)
Strong decision-making, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Demonstrated leadership in people and team management
Valid UK driving licence and access to transport

Eligibility:
