Recovery Worker (Temp) – Substance Misuse Service

Location: Harlow, Essex

Pay: £20–£22 per hour (umbrella)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm

We are recruiting for a dedicated Recovery Worker to join an Integrated Recovery Service on a temporary basis while the client recruits permanently. This is an immediate start for a motivated individual with experience supporting people in their recovery journey from substance misuse.

Key Responsibilities:

• Care co-ordination for all clients entering the service and engaging in treatment.
• Develop and manage individual recovery plans.
• Deliver psychosocial interventions and group work.
• Liaise with partner agencies to support client needs (housing, benefits, employment).
• Explore pathways into detox, rehab, and provide aftercare support.

Requirements:

• Excellent communication, time management, and administrative skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and multi-agency working.
• Willingness to learn and engage with a diverse client group.
• Car driver with access to a vehicle.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Exeprience in a similar role working with Alcohol clients
• DBS registered with the Update Service
