As a Conveyancing Legal Assistant you will play a key role in assisting a senior fee earner with their caseload of residential conveyancing matters. This position requires a candidate who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering excellent client service. You will be integral to ensuring smooth operations, managing a variety of administrative and legal tasks within the conveyancing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and practical support to the fee earner in managing a busy caseload of residential conveyancing files.
- Handle client correspondence, including drafting documents, letters, and emails.
- Conduct searches, manage client ID verification, and assist with Land Registry applications.
- Prepare and collate documentation for property transactions, including completion statements and exchange contracts.
- Communicate with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other third parties to facilitate property transactions.
- Maintain accurate records, ensuring all case files are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with post-completion tasks, including Land Registry filings and SDLT submissions.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in conveyancing is highly desirable.
- Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritise workload.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
- Proficiency in using legal case management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of the conveyancing process and relevant legal terminology.
