Cantley factory, located in the heart of the Norfolk Broads just 30 minutes from Norwich, was the first beet sugar factory in the UK and has been producing sugar on site since 1912. With a rich history of innovation, we continue to invest in our factories to make them ever more efficient. At Cantley, over £30 million of new equipment and innovative technology has been installed in the last two years. This ranges from integrating digitisation into the sugar-making process, new power generation and carbon reduction projects, to a state-of-the-art water treatment plant.

Opportunity We are looking for an E&I Technician to join our Electrical, Instrumentation and Control team. Our highly skilled E&I technicians work closely with our Process and Mechanical technicians to ensure we continually produce the highest quality product in a safe environment.

Skills and Experience
Level 3 qualification (HNC/NVQ 3 or equivalent/higher) in Electrical Engineering and/or Instrumentation and Control
Comprehensive technical knowledge and hands on skills gained through large scale, complex industrial installations
Understanding of hazards and controls associated with a complex industrial environment.
Experience of effective technical problem solving, fault diagnosis and continuous improvement
Maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems  

If you specialise in either Electrical or Instrumentation and Control, training and upskilling is provided

Responsibilities
Electrical tasks such as 3 phase electrical distribution from 24V DC to 11kV AC, installation work, instrumentation and calibrations, maintenance and fault finding.
Installation of new plant or modifications as appropriate
Troubleshooting and practical fault finding on plant and electrical/instrumentation/control systems.
Carry out planned inspection routes on process plant and proactive maintenance
Testing and commissioning plant in readiness for operations.
Making plant safe for maintenance/repairs This role may cover shift or day-based activities dependent upon site requirements.
