Overview
We are looking for a Senior Atlassian Platform Architect to design and evolve a scalable, secure, and cloud-native Atlassian platform (Jira, Confluence, JSM) as part of an internal developer platform.
You will define how these tools are built, integrated, and operated at scale, enabling engineering teams to work efficiently through a reliable, self-service platform.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Design the target architecture for Jira, Confluence, and JSM on Kubernetes
- Define multi-tenant models, scalability, high availability, and failover strategies
- Design and implement IAM integration (e.g. Keycloak), including roles and access models
- Establish secure external access patterns, authentication flows, and data boundaries
- Define integration architecture with monitoring, CMDB, notification, and external systems
- Set up SLAs/SLOs, monitoring, alerting, and observability concepts (e.g. Prometheus)
- Design release and upgrade strategies, including plugin and version management
- Drive architectural governance, standards, and documentation across stakeholders
🧠 Requirements
Must-have:
- Strong experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, JSM) in enterprise environments
- Proven background in platform or solution architecture
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes / cloud-native platforms
- Experience with IAM / SSO solutions (e.g. Keycloak)
- Knowledge of multi-tenant architectures and secure system exposure
- Experience defining SLAs/SLOs and monitoring (e.g. Prometheus)
- Strong stakeholder communication and ability to work across teams
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in private cloud or regulated environments
- Integration experience with CMDBs, DevOps tools (e.g. GitLab), and external systems
- Experience building self-service/internal developer platforms
- Familiarity with plugin governance and observability practices
