Are you an experienced Site Agent with a proven track record in managing both earthworks and structures packages on highway projects? Looking for an immediate start on a challenging and rewarding project in Kent?
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise all on-site activities for earthworks and structures packages, ensuring efficient project execution.
- Develop and implement site management plans, including resource allocation, short-term programming, and risk assessments.
- Ensure strict adherence to project designs, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Oversee and coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, plant, and materials effectively.
- Champion and enforce the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management on site.
- Conduct regular site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Liaise effectively with the Project Manager, engineering teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress against the programme, identifying and mitigating potential delays.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, and quality assurance documentation.
- Manage and resolve any on-site issues or challenges promptly and efficiently.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Site Agent or Sub Agent on highways projects, with demonstrable experience managing both earthworks and civil structures (e.g., bridges, retaining walls, culverts).
- Strong understanding of highway construction methodologies, materials, and specifications.
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations within the construction industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and man-management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficient in site management software and practices.
- Mandatory: Full UK Driving Licence.
- Mandatory: Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate.
- Mandatory: Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card (appropriate level).
- Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (e.g., HNC, HND, Degree) are highly desirable.
