Salary: £17.00 - £21.00 per hour

We are looking for ASB Housing Officer to deliver early intervention, enforcement, prevention, and resolution services for anti-social behaviour across our housing communities. You will manage a caseload of ASB and tenancy-related cases, provide robust enforcement where required, and work collaboratively with community partners to uphold a safe and inclusive environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on investigations into complaints of anti-social behaviour, nuisance, and hate crime across approximately 2,800 social housing properties.
  • Manage cases in accordance with law, policy, and best practice—supporting victims, conducting risk assessments, and taking decisive enforcement action where required.
  • Act as the lead officer for domestic abuse and hate crime cases, working closely with relevant agencies and attending MARAC meetings.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams, tenant groups, and community partners on ASB legislation and procedures.
  • Prepare and review witness statements, represent Somerset Council in court proceedings, and act as a professional witness when needed.
  • Work with external partners including the police and community agencies to implement early interventions and prevent ASB.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records, ensuring full compliance with the Data Protection Act and council policies.
  • Attend court hearings, community meetings, and after-hours engagements as required.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum two years of experience managing and resolving ASB cases within social housing or local authority environments.
  • Strong understanding of housing legislation, ASB law, and enforcement processes.
  • Experience working with victims of domestic abuse and hate crime.
  • Excellent judgment, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and deliver outcomes within strict deadlines.
  • Confident communicator able to engage with residents, communities, and partner agencies.
  • Good ICT and case management system skills.
