Housing Needs Officer - Flexible working
We have a new vacancy available for Housing Needs Officer to work on a temporary basis paying £29 ph Umbrella rate.
You will be required to work for this busy but rewarding team based in North West London. The ideal candidate will have the following:
Key Duties.
Investigating homelessness claims; interviewing and assessing homeless families both in person and by phone, also carrying out home visits when needed
Writing concise and informed section 184 decision letter
Creating Personal Housing Plans with clients to prompt Homelessness prevention
Providing appropriate advice and assistance on housing issues and undertaking action to prevent homelessness
Effectively sign posting clients to the appropriate service e.g. Money Advice, CAB, Credit Union
Investigate cases of homelessness under Part VI & VII of the Housing Act 2002
Up to date knowledge of legislation include the HRA
Providing advice and assistance to customers approaching the Council with a housing related problem
Identifying presenting issues; responding proactively to enable people to remain in their existing accommodation by preventing homelessness where possible.
- At least 3 years front line HRA experience
- Experiencing in issuing section 184 decisions
- Experience using the Jigsaw system
You will also need to attend the office 2 days a week.
