• Maths Teaching Assistant must have a degree in Mathematics 2:1 or a 1st
• Experience with children is welcomed but not necessary

The Maths teaching Assistant role
This role will involve the Maths Teaching Assistant helping the day to day running of the Maths department. Although some of this will involve administrative work, the majority will be classroom based with single students or small groups. The students will be those requiring extra support for a variety of reasons, thus good communication skills and patience are highly important virtues

The ideal Maths Teaching Assistant
An A-Level + undergraduate degree in Maths is key here. Subject knowledge plays a significant part of this role and these 2 qualifications are a prerequisite. A keen interest in the education process and a desire to become a Maths teacher in a secondary school are of equal importance. Working with students can be challenging and this drive will prove a massive help

It's important you read the criteria for this role. Only candidates with an A-Level and a degree in Maths will be considered. Alongside this is the genuine desire to become a Maths Teacher. The school has a great record with training university graduates and a lack of that desire will become apparent very quickly
