Cover Supervisor - General

We are supporting a school to seek a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their dynamic team in Newcastle. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers, across school. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education and looking to make a positive impact on students' learning experiences.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Supervise and manage classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and materials provided by the absent teacher.
• Support students in their learning activities, answering questions, and providing guidance as needed.
• Maintain classroom discipline and manage student behaviour in accordance with school policies.
• Assist with administrative tasks , such as marking attendance and recording student progress.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure continuity of learning and support for students.
• Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with secondary school students, ideally in a supervisory or teaching assistant role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the varying needs of the school.
• A degree or similar level of qualification.
