We are working with a College of Further Education that is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lecturer to join their dynamic team.

Location: Bromley

Reporting To: Deputy Head of College

Supervises: Co-Tutors and Education/Enabling Support Assistants

Salary: £28,000 to £35,000 per annum

Job Description:

Purpose Of The Job: As a Lecturer of this College, you will play a crucial role in planning and delivering effective lessons tailored to the educational needs of their students. You will use our evidence collection system to assess and record student progress, ensuring that each learner's development is appropriately documented. Additionally, you will manage a team of support assistants and collaborate with therapists and other professionals when required.

Main Duties:

Plan and prepare engaging lessons.
Teach students according to their individual educational needs, fostering the development of their abilities.
Assess, record, and report on student development, following college policies.
Implement teaching, learning, and quality assurance policies.
Manage a team of support assistants and collaborate with therapists and other professionals.
Create individualized learning programs for each student.
Develop short-term, medium-term, and weekly plans, including virtual learning where necessary.
Foster peer mentoring to enhance curriculum delivery.
Ensure a smooth transition for students entering and leaving the college.
Establish close connections with therapists to support students with physical and communication needs.
Engage in regular meetings with the support staff to communicate clear learning outcomes.
Make effective use of available resources, including technology.
Contribute to the College Quality Improvement Plan as directed by your line manager.
Professional Development:

Continuously reflect on teaching methods and programs.
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and INSET days.
Partake in further training and professional development opportunities to address identified needs.
Qualifications (Essential):

A degree or equivalent professional qualification.
Formal teaching qualification (PGCE or Certificate in Education).
Evidence of continued professional and personal development.
Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of professional experience working with children/young people.
Evidence of direct experience and/or knowledge of disability.
Technical/Work-based Skills:

Excellent knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
Experience with SEN-specific applications or technology.
General Skills/Attributes:

Commitment to inclusion.
Commitment to share responsibility for the education and care of students.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in leading teams.
