We're representing a well-established and growing food manufacturer based in Watford, known for its commitment to quality, compliance, and innovation. As a trusted third-party recruitment partner, we're seeking a Compliance / Quality Manager to lead site-wide food safety, quality systems, and compliance activities.

This is a pivotal role ideal for someone with a strong technical and regulatory background who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments and enjoys building robust systems and relationships across teams.

The responsibilities for the compliance/quality manager:

Lead the site's food safety, quality, and compliance strategy in line with BRC, HACCP, and customer standards

*

Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS)

*

Act as the key contact for customer technical queries, site visits, and audits

*

Manage and prepare for third-party and retailer audits (BRC, customer, etc.)

*

Ensure ongoing compliance with food safety legislation and industry regulations

*

Lead internal audit schedules, traceability exercises, and allergen risk management

*

Coach and develop the Quality team, setting clear KPIs and improvement objectives

*

Support cross-functional projects involving NPD, Production, and Technical functions

The ideal candidate for the Compliance/Quality Manager role would have:

Previous experience as a Quality or Compliance Manager in food manufacturing

*

Strong understanding of BRCGS, HACCP, and UK/EU food legislation

*

Confident audit management experience - ideally including direct customer and BRC audits

*

Proven ability to manage and improve QMS systems

*

Strong people and communication skills - able to influence across departments

*

A food science or related qualification preferred

*

Experience working with chilled, ambient, or short-shelf-life products is a bonus
