Right now, we are searching for a Programmes Coordinator. You will be an essential member of UWC International’s Programmes Team and take full day-to-day responsibility for the coordination and delivery of work such as capacity building of national committees, supporting the UWC admissions process, working with UWC short courses, responding to stakeholder queries and developing new and existing initiatives that help UWC students, national committees, schools and colleges and short courses thrive. If this sounds like the role to make you leap from bed every day then read on for further details… Key responsibilities Support the Senior Officer in working with the Heads Committee, the Committee of the National Committees (CNC), the Chairs Committee and the Committee for Governance of the National Committee System (CGNCS), including preparing information, drafting papers and providing ongoing support between Committee-meetings Support the Senior Officer and Head in the management and control of the departmental budget Coordinate colleagues and volunteers in delivering departmental activity, e.g. the Global Selection Programme, offers and admissions processes, NC Fund or the UWC International’s Short Course support mechanism Support schools and colleges day to day and to review and develop these areas with the relevant working groups Support the evaluation of policies, processes and programmes, for example by analysing data and making recommendations for improvement Onboard new staff at UWC schools and colleges and key volunteers at national committees in relation to relevant policies and processes Supervise junior Programmes staff day-to-day, e.g. setting objectives, monitoring progress and managing performance Travel in support of the objectives of the role (approximately six times a year) Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Officer and the Head of Programmes Essential experience and knowledge working with volunteers in complex organisational settings working effectively with globally dispersed colleagues, volunteers and stakeholders co-ordinating several complex pieces of work with multiple stakeholders and conflicting deadlines supervision of junior staff administering and drafting policies and processes development and delivery of training sessions working effectively on own initiative and without administrative support meeting deadlines working with or in the UWC system (or equivalent) tact and cross-cultural sensitivity negotiation, influencing and consensus-finding communicating well, verbally and in written form, also with those who do not have English as a first language excellent attention to detail ability to think analytically ability to work in a team and across teams data analysis, report writing and note taking ability and willingness to travel Desirable Database and systems design and maintenance Experience in the (international) education and/or charity sector. Fluency in a second world language. It is expected that the job holder will travel to UWC schools and colleges. For that reason a basic DBS check (Disclosure barring statement) or international equivalent will be required before any job offer is made. Visa requirements Anyone who applies to work at UWC International in London must have a work visa before starting employment, in compliance with the UK Immigration Rules. UWC International is unable to sponsor individuals for work visas since we do not hold a sponsorship licence. While we are required to comply with the law of the country we operate in, we feel strongly that this is not in line with the ethos of UWC. We place the highest value on diversity and intercultural exchange, and both are inevitably limited by the current regulations. For this reason, we are working to acquire a sponsorship licence in the future, and we are doing all we can in the meantime to support the work visa application of those who apply to permanent positions.
