A well-established and inclusive primary school in Guildford is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Year 2 Class Teacher to join their Key Stage 1 team from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent role ideal for experienced teachers or motivated Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop their skills in a supportive and high-achieving environment.

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality teaching to a Year 2 class in line with the National Curriculum.

Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs.

Create a positive, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.

Use assessment effectively to track pupil progress and inform planning.

*

Promote positive behaviour and foster a love of learning.

Work collaboratively with colleagues within Key Stage 1 and across the school.

Engage with parents and carers to support pupil achievement and well-being.

Contribute to school life through participation in staff meetings, CPD, and extracurricular activities.

Candidate Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.

*

Strong knowledge of the Year 2 curriculum and effective teaching practices.

*

Experience or understanding of phonics teaching programmes (e.g., Read Write Inc., Little Wandle).

*

Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

*

Ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all pupils.

*

A reflective practitioner with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

*

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

*

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
