The RM Officer will be required to work with the RPM to create and develop policies, procedures and protocols for the management of both paper and electronic records.

In particular, this post will work on the re-tendering process for the off-site storage contract as well as supporting the RPM on the project to move the county council's records and assets from current locations.

The RM Officer will work with the RPM whilst they are in post, but also report directly to the Corporate Information Governance Manager and will work closely with the existing project teams across Property Services, Procurement and Surrey History Service.

For the purposes of assessing and analysing services RM needs, there will be occasions where the RM Officer will have to investigate unsuitable environments such as storage accommodation areas to give appropriate advice.

There are a number of internal and external networks that the Records Officer will need to develop and support.

The RMO Officer will need to be:

- A qualified records manager

- Experience in records management, including working with electronic records management systems, implementing retention schedules , conducting compliance audits, writing procedures and guidance documentation and delivering training

- A team player

- First class communication skills who is flexible in approach and positive in attitude.
