MERITUS Talent are working with one of Europe's leading defence manufacturers for the recruitment of a PCB-A Development Manager to join their Stevenage office on a 12 month contract basis. The role requires someone to be on-site 5 days a week, and is paying up to £70 per hour via Umbrella.
OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and proactive PCB-A Development Manager to join the PCB-A Governance Team, supporting the definition and execution of sourcing strategies for prototype and production hardware. This role is pivotal in delivering hardware solutions to tight development timelines and ensuring a smooth transition into series production.
You will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and supplier teams to manage the full lifecycle of PCB-A activities, from early engagement to delivery and reporting.
Key ResponsibilitiesDefine sourcing strategies for prototype and production PCB-A hardware to support current and future business needs
Manage PCB-A activities through project planning and delivery within agreed timelines
Coordinate closely with customers, internal teams (design, procurement, manufacturing), and suppliers to capture and refine requirements
Support integration activities and follow-on production planning
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate and develop future capability agreements
Drive rapid hardware delivery during the development phase in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing functions
Coordinate new product introduction into the series production environment
Produce robust estimates to support programme planning
Provide accurate reporting on activities for both internal stakeholders and customers
Required Skills & ExperienceProven experience in project or programme management within a complex technical or manufacturing environment
Strong track record in defining and executing sourcing or delivery strategies
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and align multi-functional teams
Able to balance strategic focus with day-to-day decision-making
Experience with high-profile or time-critical production support
Previous exposure to engineering or production environments is preferred
Understanding of PCB-A technologies is advantageous but not essential
Strong stakeholder engagement and supplier relationship management skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment
