MERITUS Talent are working with one of Europe's leading defence manufacturers for the recruitment of a PCB-A Development Manager to join their Stevenage office on a 12 month contract basis. The role requires someone to be on-site 5 days a week, and is paying up to £70 per hour via Umbrella.
Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive PCB-A Development Manager to join the PCB-A Governance Team, supporting the definition and execution of sourcing strategies for prototype and production hardware. This role is pivotal in delivering hardware solutions to tight development timelines and ensuring a smooth transition into series production.

You will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and supplier teams to manage the full lifecycle of PCB-A activities, from early engagement to delivery and reporting.


Key Responsibilities
  • Define sourcing strategies for prototype and production PCB-A hardware to support current and future business needs

  • Manage PCB-A activities through project planning and delivery within agreed timelines

  • Coordinate closely with customers, internal teams (design, procurement, manufacturing), and suppliers to capture and refine requirements

  • Support integration activities and follow-on production planning

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate and develop future capability agreements

  • Drive rapid hardware delivery during the development phase in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing functions

  • Coordinate new product introduction into the series production environment

  • Produce robust estimates to support programme planning

  • Provide accurate reporting on activities for both internal stakeholders and customers


Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in project or programme management within a complex technical or manufacturing environment

  • Strong track record in defining and executing sourcing or delivery strategies

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and align multi-functional teams

  • Able to balance strategic focus with day-to-day decision-making

  • Experience with high-profile or time-critical production support

  • Previous exposure to engineering or production environments is preferred

  • Understanding of PCB-A technologies is advantageous but not essential

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and supplier relationship management skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment
