1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Durham Secondary School

Teaching Personnel has an opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant in a Durham secondary specialist school to provide 1:1 support to a student with complex needs. The student is struggling with the transition from primary to secondary and requires consistent, tailored support throughout the school day.
This role may suit someone with a primary or secondary SEN background who is comfortable working 1:1 with a student who has autism, communication needs, and requires support with behaviour management.
You need:
- Ability to form meaningful relationships with students
- Confidence in behaviour management and de escalation
- Kind, empathetic and dedicated approach
- Experience working with students with SEN or complex needs
