Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a well respected consultancy, in their search for a Town Planner to join their Central London planning team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Planner with around 1-2 years' experience to join a respected consultancy, working across a wide range of assets and gaining exposure to projects spanning heritage, regeneration, and mixed-use development across London.

The Role

As a Town Planner, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of planning applications and site appraisals, while developing your experience across the full planning lifecycle within a collaborative and multidisciplinary team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the preparation of planning applications, appeals, and site appraisals across a varied asset base

  • Undertaking site visits and reviewing planning history and relevant policy

  • Assisting with research to support projects from early strategy through to determination

  • Working closely with senior planners and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes

  • Keeping up to date with planning legislation, case law, and policy updates

  • Supporting the preparation of internal CPD material and planning updates

  • Engaging with clients and Local Planning Authorities to build professional confidence and networks

Candidate Requirements
  • 1-2 years' experience in planning (consultancy, developer, or local authority)

  • Ideally experience working within the London boroughs

  • MRTPI Chartered or working towards Chartership

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proactive and motivated approach to professional development
