Shift Engineer

Salary: Up to £44,000
Location: Suffolk
Shift Pattern: Rotating days and nights (season-dependent)

Our client is looking for a capable and proactive Shift Engineer to support the smooth operation of a high-performing production facility. This role offers the chance to play a key part in driving continuous improvement while helping to establish a strong preventative maintenance culture.

Responsibilities:

Perform reactive, planned, and preventative maintenance across the site
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement effective solutions
Reduce engineering downtime to ensure production targets are consistently met
Carry out all maintenance tasks safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant performance
Follow and contribute to health, safety, environmental, and food safety standards
Undertake fabrication work, including building, repairing, and installing machinery components
Operate tractors and trailers for waste movement when requiredRequirements:

At least 2 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within FMCG or a heavy industrial environment
Practical experience is valued over formal qualifications
Hands-on experience with heavy plant equipment, such as conveyors
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset
