About the Role
Hill McGlynn is excited to partner with a reputable regional main contractor renowned for delivering high-quality construction projects across Kent and London. We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Maidstone. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of new build and refurbishment projects, with a special focus on healthcare and hospital projects.

Key Responsibilities

* Managing the full commercial process from initial estimates through to final account settlement.

* Measuring, pricing, and preparing valuations in accordance with project specifications and drawings.

* Procuring subcontractors, managing payments, and handling variations.

* Ensuring contractual compliance and controlling costs across projects.

* Collaborating with project teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and financial performance.

* Supporting risk management, value engineering, and project profitability initiatives.

* Mentoring junior team members and promoting best practices within the commercial team.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:

* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, working on projects worth up to £10 million.

* Experience working on new build and refurbishment projects, with healthcare and hospital projects being highly advantageous.

* Strong commercial awareness, negotiation, and contractual management skills.

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

* Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or related fields.
