About the Role

We are recruiting an experienced Traffic Management Supervisor to support a major Tier 1 highways contractor delivering large scale infrastructure and maintenance works across Surrey. The successful candidate will oversee onsite traffic management operations, ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with national standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily traffic management operations across multiple highway sites.
Lead, coordinate and monitor TM operatives to ensure safe and compliant site setups.
Ensure all traffic management is installed in accordance with NHSS 12AB and Chapter 8 guidelines.
Liaise closely with site managers, project teams, and local authorities.
Carry out site audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Manage permit requirements, traffic orders, and road space bookings where required.
Provide toolbox talks, safety briefings, and on-site training to operatives.
Maintain accurate records of TM configurations, changes, and incident reports.
Respond to operational issues promptly and professionally.
Ensure vehicles, signage, and equipment are compliant, maintained, and fit for purpose.

Requirements

NHSS 12AB Supervisor accreditation (Essential)
Proven experience supervising traffic management activities on highways schemes.
Strong understanding of Chapter 8 and national TM standards.
Experience working with Tier 1 or large civil engineering contractors (preferred).
Full UK driving licence.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work days, nights or weekends as required by project demands.
