Job Title: Project Manager - Electrical Transmission

Location: UK-Wide (with national travel, focus on Midlands & South West)

About the Role:

We're seeking a proactive and experienced Project Manager to oversee major Electrical Transmission infrastructure projects across the UK. With a primary focus on substation and M&E frameworks (up to 400kV), this role plays a key part in the UK's transition to renewable energy and the modernisation of the national grid.

You'll take ownership of the entire project lifecycle, from planning and mobilisation through to delivery and closeout - driving performance, quality, and safety across each phase.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage multiple Electrical Transmission and M&E projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification.

Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and supply chain partners to execute site and design activities effectively.

Maintain full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards across all workstreams.

Build and manage stakeholder relationships, acting as the main point of contact for clients and project partners.

Contribute to tender processes, work winning, and pipeline planning.

Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensure all work aligns with relevant legislation including CDM, HSWA, and EAWR.

About You - Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven track record in managing substation construction or major electrical infrastructure projects, ideally involving UK transmission networks.

Strong understanding of EPC and M&E delivery frameworks.

Confident leading Design & Build project teams and engaging with multiple disciplines.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualification in Construction, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).

Experience delivering under NEC contracts and managing project commercials.

Working knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.

Deep understanding of infrastructure project phases, from concept to commissioning.

Desirable:

Project Management certification (e.g. APM, PRINCE2, PMP).

Familiarity with digital project tools, BIM, or GIS platforms.

Exposure to frameworks involving National Grid, SSE, SPEN, or other DNOs/TOs.
