HGV Class 1 Night Driver – Minworth, West Midlands

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Night Driver to join our well-established client based in Minworth, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

This role is ideal for an experienced HGV Class 1 Night Driver looking for consistent night-shift work.

Shifts

• Monday to Friday (some Sundays available)
• PM start times between 20:00 and 22:00

Rates of Pay

• £17.50 per hour – Monday to Friday
• £21.00 per hour – Sundays

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Night Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Completing Class 1 trunking deliveries
• Operating Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly
• Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Night Driver, you will need:

• Valid UK Category C+E Driving Licence
• Minimum of 12 months’ experience driving C+E vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
• Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
• Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
• Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience driving commercial vehicles

Training Provided

• Ongoing industry-related training and support
