My client is looking for a Senior Business Development Executive to join their team looking after their Mediterranean markets. This is a great opportunity for someone who has previous experience working in a similar position within an inbound tour operator.

The role:

To be able to identify which existing or new clients have the potential for a touring product development for the specific market.
To be able to create a touring program based on the client request and the specific group needs.
To be able to identify the most suitable products to be included in the touring program, in order to create the most effective and competitive offer.
To be able to adjust and diversify the offers, depending on the travel season and the specific market demand.
To acknowledge and qualify all new requests (via email and phone).
To make sure that all offers are sent out in the company standard format and are all entered correctly into the operational System.
To ensure that your offer reflects what the client expects without compromising on quality of services and price of the offer.
To ensure that all offers are correctly followed up, worked on to make sure business is won.
To constantly update the bookings in the system with all the correct information in order to have a correct overview for yourself, operations and management.
To maintain good relationships with all clients and ensure that any promises/deadlines are kept up to date.
To build relationships with suppliers and ensure that your product knowledge is kept up to date at all times.
To keep abreast of who our competitors are, who they work with (both clients and suppliers) and what they are offering.
To deal with complaints as and when they arise in a professional manner.
To hold periodically an emergency phone during the weekend, accordingly to your department rota (if required)
To organize and participate in any familiarization trips that need to take place in order to win or facilitate a booking.

The Person:

Language skills: Fluency in English and ideally Italian or Spanish are essential.
Experience: a minimum of 3 years of experience in a UK inbound operator in a group role for Mediterranean clients visiting these destinations. Proven experience of preparing quotes, liaising with clients to win groups, and experience in operating groups touring in UK is a significant advantage as well.
Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of the UK as a destination. Excellent knowledge of rates and current market prices. Good knowledge of Italian/Spanish TO/TA specialized in Touring and city break groups.
Communication: the ability to be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Energy: you enjoy the buzzing energy of the travel industry and you are willing to invest time and effort to achieve your goals. You want to grow professionally and succeed in your job within the travel trade.
Flexibility: to be able to adapt to every changing situation and being open to new ideas and projects.
Problems solving: you are able to identify and analyse an/a existing/potential problem and find suitable solutions for each situation.
Teamwork: you are a team worker, but you are also able to work individually.
Trust: you know your strengths as well as your opportunities to improve
Organizational skills: great attention to detail and speed working under pressure. Ability to work in compliance with deadlines and prioritizing key concrete opportunities first.
