Semi - Skilled Mechanical Technician
Randstad Engineering are currently recruiting for a Semi Skilled Mechanical Technician to come and work for Tata Steel in Port Talbot on an initial 12 month contract.
This is a full time position paying £14.24 per hour / £29,700 per annum, Monday - Friday on a day shift. Other perks include a holiday allowance of 41 days per annum.
THE ENGINEERING WORKSHOPS COMPLETE THE MANUFACTURE AND REFURBISHMENT OFCUSTOM MADE GOODS FOR BOTH PORT TALBOT AND LLANWERN WORKS. THIS ROLE HAS BEENIDENTIFIED AS SUPPORTING THE ENGINEERING WORKSHOPS IN ENSURING COMPLIANCE WITHISO 9001 AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.
THIS POSITION HAS OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONTROL AND INSPECTION OF BOTHINCOMING AND OUTGOING GOODS FOR THE ENGINEERING WORKSHOPS
Roles & Responsibilities
To carry out goods inwards inspections aligned with the requirement of thebusiness and in alignment with ISO 9001.
To be accountable for the stores delivery and despatch areas. Controlling andauditing the inventory of stored components and assemblies.
To identify issues with the current working process and recommend progressivechange.
Supply the bays with A consistent level of performance as required by the ServiceEngineers / Planning Engineers / Leading Hands
To cover for the Quality Assurance Technician during periods of both planned andun-planned absence
Ensure that all final inspection documents are correct prior being taken from therelevant bays.
Ensure Pre delivery inspections in line with pre delivery requirements areundertaken
Undertake any further activities/duties as reasonably requested by the company
Control and improve the SAP and associated databases currently utilised withinthe department, for traceability / trending, to ensure compliance to departmentalprocesses and procedures.Identify opportunities to make financial savings within the process, throughreduction in operating costs or improved reliability/efficiency
